Week 33 - Our Favorites

With only 19 More weeks left in this year, August always feels like it's moving at warp speed - Summer is winding to an end and all the kids are heading back to start another year of school. This week's theme of "Slow Down & Look back" came at an excellent time. There were so many great takes on this week's theme by our talented pool of photographers. Week 32 - Our Favorites

This week's MCP Project 52 theme was "My Favorite Time of Day." It was refreshing to see that my favorite times of day are shared by many. Additionally, there were a lot of family focused favorite times of the day, and I really liked that - I love goofing around with my knuckleheads just as much as you. We really worked hard this week to prove that a favorite time of day doesn't have to be a time at all, it's a place, a moment, an event that brings you and those around you joy. 32/52 My favorite time of Day

When I thought about this week's theme, "My favorite time of day" - a few things came to mind...my first cup of steaming hot "Dark Magic" coffee while the house is still quiet, escaping inside book while biking on my ever faithful stationary bike, cooking dinner for my family with my family, and then there is bath-time for my baby. The babies grow up so fast...soon I won't be able to see her full beautiful face as it will be half covered by an iPod or a DSi...but for now she's just small, silly and three. Bubble baths with extra bubbles are always on the top of her list and mine too.

Week 31 - Our Favorites!

The theme this week was "SKY" - I knew this week's MCP Project 52 was going to be a great week because I'd get to see the world through this Flickr project. {This might be my favorite part of Flickr} We went everywhere this week and it was AWESOME. I loved all the cornfields, the mountains and seeing a little Niagara Falls. There were lots of things to like, different times of day, even night & some great lightning storms. And now for Ellenburg Photography's photo of the week...Sunday, while my husband went to see the olympic boxing trials, I packed up the kiddies and we drove around Creola, Alabama after the latest Mobile County Rain storm. I found some really great sky. This was my favorite:

This week, I have a tip. Landscape photography is tough, especially if you're running around without a tripod. When you're editing your photos, sometimes the sky looks a little grainy. Clouds can be a rough customer. I've had a lot of success with a program called define 2.0 - it's part of the NIK software family & I'm a huge fan of the whole collection. Define plugs right into photoshop and in my opinon is worth it's weight in gold and is quite magical the first time you use it. You might like it. Week 32's theme is "My Favorite time of Day" - this leaves the door wide open for your creative juices to start flowing. As for me...it could be my first cup of coffee while the house is still quiet or sunset in Creola, Alabama or the Mr. Bubbles Party at evening bath time with my 3 year old mini-me. What ever your favorite time of day is...I can't wait to see you photograph it!

This week's theme is "SKY" - so, after the endless rains of Mobile County, while my amazing husband was watching the Olympic Fight trials....I packed up the kids and we drove around beautiful, super quiet Creola and took these photographs. It was a great afternoon.
