LENS - Learn, Experience, iNspire & Share

This Weekend I took a photography workshop offered by the University of South Alabama. The Lens workshop by Stephanie Gillis was a great course. We got to hear speakers in different fields of Photography & Art talk about their personal creative process. I really enjoyed hearing and seeing what other people really see behind the camera.

Things I enjoyed the most were:
1. Getting some new author / Book titles to read up on and almost every topic.
2. Learning about some great local used book stores with large Photography sections.
3. Getting to watch photography work flow with some new software that I haven't seen yet. I LOVE new software.
4. Talking with other local photographers about photography & work life balance. I'm not the only one taking a little heat for watching life from behind a camera.
5. The photo Challenge.

The photo challenge was interesting. We all had a partner and had one hour. We had to go out on the streets of downtown Fairhope, Alabama and take 36 photographs of people, edit them & upload them. This was a lot of fun. Here are some of my favorite photographs...

Braves win Half Season Championship!

Big Congrats to the Little League Braves on winning the half season championship at Lyon's Park in Satsuma Alabama. It's been a great ride so far! Enjoy a few memories from this week's game.

Karlesha

Karlesha stopped by the Ellenburg Photography Studios yesterday for some updated headshots for an upcoming pageant, in Mobile Alabama. We shot for about 15 minutes and got some really GREAT stuff. I narrowed it down to my favorite 9, but she can only pic one. It's going to be a tough choice.

Braves and Giants

The still undefeated Little League Braves took on the Giants Tuesday for a GREAT game. Braves worked hard for 2 double plays and a victory of 9 to 6. The game was almost as fun to watch as it was to shoot! Enjoy a few of my favorites from Tuesday at Lyon's Park in Satsuma, Alabama. Here's the first double play... 3rd Base never looked cooler! Baby Blue Jays & Baby Braves

Three year olds playing T-ball is addictive. I could not stop watching them. They are so uninvolved and entertaining...And so emotional. I loved it. Enjoy a few from April 5th's big Game at Lyon's Park in Satsuma, Alabama. Two Foot tall smack talkers. Classic. We love Little League and spend many afternoons at Lyon's Park. 2011 Expo at Dauphin Way Baptist Church a Success

April 1st was not only a gorgeous day to be out and about but a very successful day if you came out to visit the 2011 Expo at Dauphin Way Baptist Church. The Expo is an annual event held in the large fellowship hall.

The group of vendors assembled really held something for everyone! There was a large variety of crafts, heath care professionals, musicians, realtors, service providers and of course, Ellenburg Photography was there.




We had a cozy little corner near the sign up table. Our setting was perfect to show off our new Metallic prints as they were sparkling in the sunlit windows. We got to meet so many wonderful families. We enjoyed the stories of so many proud grand parents. And, we gave some stuff away! We were happy to gift 2 children's sittings to the door prizes. I'm really looking forward to these cuties.

Even More 2011 Festival of Flowers

On Saturday, I returned for another round of the Festival of Flowers, accompanied by the Ellenburg Five. Another Great day...I really think I could have went every day happily.
I was there for recognition in the Photography Contest, where I placed in Best of Show. It was very exciting, and my head is larger now.











Madison loves the Flower show. She told everyone she smelled a million Flowers. That never got old.
